the real glorious moment

This photo is generally considered the epitome of valor and bravery of Indian armed forces. An enemy officer signing at the extact same dotted lines with his bowed head where our army officer is directing him to sign. An absolute surrender by the enemy without any preconditions.
This is a perfect moment capturing our glory but this was no the first time an army had surrendered. There are many many instances in world history where armies had surrendered meekly. But what happened after this surrender has no precedence in history.

All 95000 surrendered soldiers were kept as guests. Defeated armies were given priority in distributing the limited resources available to the victorious Indian soldiers. Pakistani armies slept under the tents with a bed while our jawans slept under the sky. Not a single soldier was touched or harmed and they were returned to the safety of their homes with honor. They were not used as kidnapped people to extract any leverage during political negotiations held after the war. If indian army wanted to take any revenge from the captured Pakistanis, they didn't have to even lift their finger. All they had to do was to vacate the place and mukti vahini would have reciprocated the same treatment Bangladeshi people had received in operation searchlight.

The display of ethics and human values  post this moment is unparalleled in history. The real glory moments came after this pic. This only shows the deep-rooted civilization which separates us from rest of the world. Jai Hind.
