विद्या ददाति विनयं विनयाद्याति पात्रताम् ।
पात्रत्वाद्धनमाप्नोति धनाद्धर्मं ततः सुखम्।।
Literal meaning of this shloka is as below
True and complete knowledge gives discipline, from discipline comes worthiness, from worthiness one gets wealth, from wealth one does good deeds, and from those good deeds from comes joy.
We often miss the catch in last line and think that with wealth, joy will come. While the truth is that you have do good deeds aka Dharma which will lead to attainment of joy. This shloka answers the most fundamental yet the most complex question that is how can we be happy and get joy. Only wealth can never give Happiness. It's the Daan and Dharma you do with your acquired wealth that can give you Joy.
