A peaceful natural death
Queen Elizabeth II has died peacefully of natural causes. Of course, she lived an extraordinary life. She was corronated as queen almost seven decades ago. She saw a lot of water flow down the Thames. But more than her life, it's her death that catches my attention. When I read the news about the queen dying peacefully of natural causes, I thought this kind of death is becoming very very rare. How many of us have seen people around us dying peacefully at home due to natural causes after living a full life. Most of the deaths we see are preceded by prolonged illness, medical procedures, and painful medication. Diabetes in kids, heart attacks in thirties and deaths in 40s don't surprise us anymore. Rarely do people die at home; it's either in hospital or on the way to hospital. Heart attacks, diabetes, hypertension, and other lifestyle diseases have denied most of us a natural, peaceful death. The Queen definitely had a privileged life, and she had a privileged death too. Most of us may wish for a life like her; a death like her is equally desirable, if not more. May her soul rest in peace!
