1. Aks : Debut by Rakesh Omprakash Mehra. Starring Big B, Manoj Vajpayee, Raveena Tandon, Nandita Das, Vijay Raj . Apart from this heavy starcast, it's music is a big plus.. Songs like Banda yeh bindaas hai, Rabba, Yeh raat aur aaja gufaon mein aa. Penned by Gulzar and music by Anu Malik. My first dark stylish movie. Yes, it's a literary dark movie as 70%of film has been shot in dark.
2. Haseena Maan Jayegi: Film by David Dhawan starring Govinda, Karishma Kapoor, Sanjay Dutt, Pooja Batra, Kader Khan and Satish Kaushik. What can I say about the movie except Govinda is at his charm offensive at its peak ably supported by Baba, and kader khan. Won't say much if you haven't seen this one. Bas ek baat kahunga.. Ek baar dekhiye to sahi..
3.Kasoor : a film of Vikram bhatt starring Amazingly beautiful and sensuous Lisa Ray ( May be my teenager harmones are still there somewhere which made me write that). Another reason may be Aftab Shivdasani is called Shekhar in this film and he has Lisa Ray as her lawyer, lover and mistress with whom you can sing songs like Dekha jo tumko yeh dil ko kya hua hai, zindagi ban gaye to hum and kal raat ho gayi. What else can you possibly want in life than what Aftab has got in the movie?
4. Gunda : What has not been said about this one which I can say. Our own " Plan 9 from outer space" starring Mithun Da. You are living under a rock if you have not heard " Mera naam hai Bulla" dialogue and don't know names like Ibu harela, kafan chor neta, kala shetty, lucky chikna, chutia, inspector kale, lambu aata and Bachu bigona. One small trivia about this poetic (😂) film that while generally movie fans remember some scene, some dialogues or some songs, Gunda fans remember full movie. There are dedicated fan clubs for this one which tells me that I am not alone who love Gunda.
Let me know your list.. I will watch them and append my list if needed. Only criteria is that movie shouldn't be critically acclaimed and should been as termed as trash but you like them. In hindi as we say.. ki Dil aaya gadhi per to pari kya cheez hai..
